The Wisdom to Seek Counsel

Proverbs 1:5 (NKJV) A wise man will hear and increase learning, And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel,

Proverbs 9:9 (CEV) If you have good sense, instruction will help you to have even better sense. And if you live right, education will help you to know even more.

Proverbs 15:22 (NIV) Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.

Wisdom isn't found in isolation—it flourishes in community. The wise person recognizes their limitations and actively seeks godly counsel. Today's readings remind us that humility opens the door to greater understanding. When we acknowledge "we don't know what we don't know," we position ourselves for growth. Consider the areas of your life where pride may be blocking progress. Are you struggling financially, relationally, or spiritually? God has placed counselors, mentors, and fellow believers in your path for a reason. There's safety in a multitude of counselors, and increased learning comes when we're willing to listen. This week, identify one area where you need wisdom and reach out to someone who can help guide you toward God's best.
